Architectural Affect
Both architecture and film focus on worldmaking; the best buildings and films routinely construct challenging new visual and spatial experiences and environments. In doing so, they elicit emotional and sensorial, affective responses, as ambient and atmospheric approaches abound in both. The films in this series look at the affective worlds constructed through architectural and environmental elements on screen. This film series is curated in conjunction with the 2025 Architecture & Film Symposium, a major biennial event co-hosted by the Kent State University College of Architecture and Environmental Design.
