Set against the social and political turmoil of Lima in 1992, Reinas follows three female characters—Lucia, Aurora, and their mother Elena—as they plan to leave Peru for the United States. Before they depart, they seek to reconnect with their estranged father, Carlos, adding emotional complexity to their journey.
