Shot between 2014 and 2019, Wang Bing (West of the Tracks, ‘Til Madness Do Us Part) offers an intimate and immersive portrait of young migrant workers in China’s garment industry who have left their rural homes to seek opportunities in the bustling factories of Huzhou. Through Wang’s unobtrusive lens, we witness their daily struggles, camaraderie, and aspirations, as well as the exploitation and mistreatment that goes on in the factories, exploring the stark reality of contemporary capitalist labor.
